Although there are no longer vast blank spaces on the map, the essence of Africa still retains that natural allure that compels us to explore it. This adventure takes us deep into the very heart of the African continent, specifically the highlands of Tanzania, where wildlife reigns supreme in all its forms. There, you will witness some of the most breathtaking, majestic, and unique natural spectacles on Earth. Great mammals roam freely across thousands of square kilometers of deserts, savannas, tropical forests, and alpine landscapes—places where humans are mere spectators of nature’s grandeur and perfect balance.
Our goal is the roof of Africa, represented by the imposing Kilimanjaro volcano (5,895 m.a.s.l.). It is the highest free-standing mountain in the world and the fourth highest of the renowned “Seven Summits,” behind Mount Denali (6,190 m.a.s.l.) in Alaska. Kilimanjaro is actually a stratovolcano composed of three cones: Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira. Kibo is the highest peak, rising slightly above the other formations. While Mawenzi and Shira are extinct, Kibo has remained dormant for about 650,000 years, though scientists believe it could erupt again in the not-so-distant future.
Ultimately, Tanzania is a place where dreams come true—one of those destinations that, as lovers of nature and raw, unspoiled landscapes, we simply must visit at least once in a lifetime.

DAY 1
ARRIVAL IN TANZANIA AND TRANSFER TO MOSHI
We will land at Kilimanjaro International Airport (Arusha), where we will be welcomed and transferred to our hotel in Moshi, the starting point of our great adventure. On the way, we will stop at a rental shop in Moshi to ensure that all trekking participants have the necessary equipment. Upon arrival at the hotel, we will hold an informational meeting about the Kilimanjaro ascent, addressing any questions and reviewing logistics. We will also conduct a full inspection of the essential expedition gear. After the meeting, we will enjoy dinner and a night of rest.
DAY 2
MACHAME GATE (1,640 m) – MACHAME CAMP (2,835 m)
After breakfast, we will head to Machame Gate, the entrance to the National Park, accompanied by our guide and support team. While the porters organize the equipment, ensuring it does not exceed 20 kg, we will complete the entry procedures and begin our ascent.
We will venture into the majestic tropical rainforest that blankets the southwestern slopes of the mountain. On this day, we will carry between 2 and 3 liters of bottled water per person. From the following day onward, porters will collect water from mountain streams, always ensuring its purity.
The trek will take us to Machame Camp, located near the transition between the rainforest and the lower alpine zone, where our campsite will be set up and dinner will be ready.
Technical data: 11 km, +1,195 m / -0 m accumulated (approx. 6 hours)
DAY 3
MACHAME CAMP (2,835 m) – SHIRA CAMP (3,850 m)
At dawn, we will prepare our backpacks for a challenging hike. We will ascend from Machame Camp to Shira Camp, located at 3,850 meters. The trail is steep, marking the transition to the lower alpine zone, with landscapes dominated by volcanic moorlands and grasslands.
Upon reaching the Shira Plateau, we will see Kibo’s summit for the first time to the northwest and Mount Meru to the east, letting the vastness of the landscape captivate our senses.
Technical data: 5 km, +1,015 m / -0 m accumulated (approx. 5 hours)
DAY 4
SHIRA CAMP (3,850 m) – LAVA TOWER (4,600 m) – BARRANCO CAMP (3,900 m)
Today, our goal is the imposing Lava Tower at 4,600 meters, a remnant of Kilimanjaro’s ancient volcanic activity. Reaching this altitude will be crucial for acclimatizing our bodies to the reduced oxygen levels we will experience at Uhuru Peak.
After admiring the tower, we will descend around Kibo’s crater to Barranco Camp, where dinner and a well-deserved rest will await us.
Technical data: 11 km, +750 m / -700 m accumulated (approx. 6 hours)
DAY 5
BARRANCO CAMP (3,900 m) – BARAFU CAMP (4,680 m)
Today’s trek is designed to optimize our acclimatization and conserve energy for the tougher days ahead. Early in the day, we will face the Barranco Wall, a rocky wall that, although imposing, can be conquered with patience and experience in mountain terrain. After overcoming this obstacle, we will gaze upon the majestic and eternal Heim Glacier. We will continue our journey through rocky landscapes until descending to the Barafu camp, where we will prepare for the final ascent to the summit.
Technical data: 6.43 km, +1,012 m / -0 m acummulated (aprox. 7 hours)
DAY 6
BARAFU CAMP (4,680 m) – KILIMANJARO (5,895 m) – MILLENIUM CAMP (3,100 m)
At the stroke of midnight, after a few hours of rest, we will begin the final ascent to the summit. The steep path will lead us to Stella Point (5,739 m), where we will watch the sunrise over Africa while sipping a hot tea. From there, only 156 meters of elevation will separate us from the coveted Uhuru Peak (5,895 m), the roof of the continent. With the summit conquered, we will begin a long and exhausting descent to the Millennium camp, where the oxygen-rich air and the humidity of the tropical rainforest will welcome us.
Technical data: 15.5 km, +1,215 m / -2,795 m acummulated (approx. 11-15 hours)
DAY 7
MILLENIUM CAMP (3,100 m) – MOSHI
The descent will be calm, traversing the familiar forest, until we reach Mweka Gate. There, we will check out and receive an ascent certificate, with a special mention if we reach Uhuru Peak. Afterward, we will return to Moshi to spend the night before embarking on the unique adventure of our safari in the highlands.
DAY 8
TRANSFER TO LAKE MANYARA (MIGOMBANY LUXURY CAMPSITE)
Falta describir.
DAY 9
NGORONGORO – SUNSET IN THE SERENEGETI (SAFARI)
We will depart early towards the Maasai Highlands, where the landscape changes and the villages begin to be adorned with the vibrant colors of traditional attire. We will cross the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and enter the vast plains of the Serengeti. In the afternoon, we will embark on a safari to our camp in Seronera, marveling at the grasslands and the wild fauna that emerges at sunset.
DAY 10
SAFARI IN SERENGETI
At first light, we will set out to explore, as it is the time when predators are most active. After breakfast, we will continue the safari, traversing the plains that at this time should be filled with migrating wildebeests and zebras. We will spend the night at the camp, surrounded by the vast African silence.
DAY 11
SAFARI IN NGORONGORO
In the morning, we will head towards the exit of Serengeti and enter the Ngorongoro Crater. This ancient volcano, known as the “Garden of Eden,” will give us the opportunity to spot the “Big Five” and other iconic animals. After exploring the crater, we will have lunch at the Ngoitokitok Lagoon and visit an African art gallery before returning to Arusha.
DAY 12
