Vertical, spectacular, and with privileged views, this is the medium-level Via Ferrata del Ponoig K4. Located on the shores of the Mediterranean in Alicante, it allows you to see, on one side, a good part of the Costa Blanca and, on the other, its more than 700 m above sea level on the imposing limestone mass of Ponoig, from which, evidently, it gets its name. Moreover, thanks to its medium difficulty (K4), the Via Ferrata del Ponoig represents a true high-altitude challenge, as verticality will accompany us from the first meters of ascent. Regarding its route, the Via Ferrata del Ponoig runs entirely on the eastern face of the mountain massif, which, without a doubt, is a favorite spot for many climbers.
Halfway through the route, we will stop to take a break and, at the same time, enjoy the impressive views, such as the Bèrnia Ridge, the Peñón d’Ifach, or the Serra Gelada of Benidorm, among others. Thus, the environment is, undoubtedly, simply spectacular.
Finally, we will descend through a vertical rappel line of 70 m in height, which will put an exciting end to this complete activity. For all these reasons, the Via Ferrata del Ponoig is, without question, one of the best via ferratas in the Valencian Community. It depends on several factors: age, the activity, and the people accompanying them. You know your children best, whereas we don’t know them yet. If you call us and give us some details about their age, whether they are afraid of heights, and any other relevant information, we can advise you accordingly.
Once the activity is over, we will send you a link with the photos. If you have also taken pictures, we will ask you to add them to the shared folder so that all participants can view them.
Of course, we won’t forbid it. However, if your camera or phone breaks or gets lost, Montania is not responsible for any personal belongings you bring with you. That said, you can always ask your guide for any photos you’d like, and they will do their best to ensure you take home the best memories!
We recommend starting with easier activities and gradually increasing the difficulty as you build confidence. You can begin with hiking, snowshoeing, or water excursions to challenge your own limits.
Via ferrata activities generally require a good level of physical fitness, but it depends on the specific route. A beginner-level activity does not require the same fitness level as an intermediate or advanced via ferrata, which demands excellent physical condition.
