The Barranc de l’Infern: The Undisputed King of Canyons in the Valencian Community. Located in Marina Alta, Alicante, the Barranc de l’Infern is a majestic geological wonder and one of the most spectacular canyons in the region. Carved by the Girona River into towering Cretaceous limestone walls, this deep and awe-inspiring canyon showcases breathtaking rock formations, creating a mesmerizing play of light and shadow. Undoubtedly, it stands as the most impressive limestone canyon along the Mediterranean arc.
Though typically a dry canyon, during periods of heavy rainfall, its water flow increases dramatically, transforming it into an even more spectacular sight. This seasonal surge presents an irresistible challenge for experienced canyoners, who are drawn to its unique combination of beauty and danger.
A true natural gem of the region, Barranc de l’Infern is an iconic canyoning destination in Alicante. If you want to experience this adventure at its fullest, Montagna Adventures offers expert-guided tours to ensure an unforgettable and safe journey through this legendary canyon.

Yes, at Montania, you are welcome! If you come alone, please note that we will likely add you to a group that is already formed. To find the best option for you, check our schedule and choose the activity that interests you the most. If you prefer a private experience with a personal guide, we also offer that option. Check the “Rates” section for more details.
A few days before the activity, you’ll need to send us a list with each participant’s weight, height, and shoe size. With this information, we can determine the right wetsuit size for you.
It depends on several factors: age, the activity, and the people accompanying them. You know your children best, whereas we don’t know them yet. If you call us and give us some details about their age, whether they are afraid of heights, and any other relevant information, we can advise you accordingly.
Once the activity is over, we will send you a link with the photos. If you have also taken pictures, we will ask you to add them to the shared folder so that all participants can view them.
Of course, we won’t forbid it. However, if your camera or phone breaks or gets lost, Montania is not responsible for any personal belongings you bring with you. That said, you can always ask your guide for any photos you’d like, and they will do their best to ensure you take home the best memories!
We recommend starting with easier activities and gradually increasing the difficulty as you build confidence. You can begin with hiking, snowshoeing, or water excursions to challenge your own limits.
For introductory canyoning activities, no prior experience is needed.
